On March 25, 2024, National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City, President: Yasutomo Nasu) will hold the 2020 Graduation Ceremony at the Okayama Prefectural General Ground Gymnasium (Zip Arena Okayama). We celebrated the departure of a total of 3,141 undergraduate and graduate students.
At the ceremony, following the singing of the national anthem and school anthem, President Yasutomo Nasu awarded degrees and
certificates to the 23 representatives from undergraduate and graduate schools. Subsequently, the 17 winners of the “Okayama University Kuromasa Award”, which is given to students with outstanding academic performance and character, were recognized, and certificates and commemorative gifts were presented to the representatives.
In his ceremonial address, President Nasu introduced the keyword “Fuyai Fuku”, which he has advocated since taking office as president. He appealed to the graduates, saying, “I hope that you will continue to think about what is important to you from time to time, even after you graduate.” He continued, “We, all of our faculty and staff members, hope that you will be able to actively work with confidence and freedom in your new workplaces, keeping in mind the tradition, spirit, and pride (LOVE) that you learned at your alma mater, Okayama University. I sincerely hope that you will continue to do so,” Hanamuke said.
Mr. Moeka Nakanishi from the Faculty of Science gave a response speech on behalf of the graduates, and Mr. Daiki Matsuoka from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences gave a speech on behalf of the graduates.
Outside the venue, graduates were grieving their farewells, taking commemorative photos with their families and friends. We wish the students of Okayama University all the best in their endeavors. Thank you for your continued support of Okayama University.
