Vectorix will exhibit its commercial e-mobility “I-Cargo”, which is a hot topic as a solution to regional distribution issues in cities, at the Kansai Logistics Exhibition held from April 10th (Wednesday) to April 12th (Friday). Also unveiling a new battery system that attracts attention
……
“I-Cargo” is expected to be “commercial e-mobility that is easier to use than light” and “plays a role in solving urban distribution issues within the region.” Vectrix Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Vectrix”/Representative Director: Fumiaki Yamagishi), the sole importer of this three-wheeled commercial BEV, will be holding an event at Intex Osaka for three days from April 10th (Wednesday) to April 12th (Friday). At the 5th Kansai Logistics Exhibition KANSAI LOGIX 2024, we will be exhibiting “I-Cargo,” which is equipped with the newly developed battery system that was unveiled at “Automotive World” in January.
In addition to the specifications, the new battery is easier to install and remove, and the management system itself has been updated. In addition to being available in two types with a capacity of 2kW and 3kW, up to 3 batteries can be installed in the storage space at the rear of the vehicle, making it easier to install and remove batteries. By combining these, we have achieved a cruising range from a minimum of 35km to a maximum of 150km. Furthermore, users can purchase batteries with the optimal capacity and number of batteries depending on the required mileage, reducing the cost of introducing an EV, improving convenience and greatly expanding options.

The new battery is available in two types: 2kW and 3kW.
[The cruising range has increased significantly from a minimum of 35km to a maximum of 150km]
In January, a major update to the replaceable battery system that is the icon of the I-Cargo was announced, and it became a hot topic not only in the logistics industry but also in the industry where light vans are operated.
First, users can choose between two types of batteries with different capacities: 2kW (35km cruising range per battery) and 3kW (50km cruising range). Next, the storage space at the rear of the vehicle has been improved, and the number of batteries that can be installed has increased from two to a maximum of three. Additionally, the battery management system has been updated, making it possible to drive with just one battery.
With this management system and the renewal of the battery itself, users can combine batteries of different capacities and the number of batteries installed to increase the range of the I-Cargo from a minimum of 35km (2kW x 1) to a maximum of 150km (3kW x 3). ), you can now set the distance in a whopping 9 wide ranges.
To explain more specifically, if the operating site is small and the total distance traveled per day is less than 50km, a single 3kW battery can be installed, and at the same time the cost of introducing an EV can be reduced. Also, when traveling an average distance of 70km to 90km, you can cover it with two batteries that are always used, and if you need to travel over a long distance of more than 100km, you can carry a third battery as a backup. This adds up to the mileage equivalent to the capacity of one battery, allowing it to run up to 150km.
In addition, by operating two types of batteries according to the required mileage without waste, it not only improves convenience but also saves on battery purchase costs as mentioned above, especially for short distance use. There are also benefits.
[High performance battery that meets international standards] At the exhibition in January, where the new system was first unveiled, many questions were asked about the new battery’s dust and waterproof performance and safety. The well-known international standard IP standard (class of protection provided by the outer enclosure of electrical equipment) has acquired IP67 (dustproof performance is the highest class 6, waterproof performance is the second highest class 7), and regarding safety. The product was also praised for passing UN38.3 (United Nations Recommended Transport Test), which is required for international transportation of lithium-ion batteries.
The Vectrix exhibition booth is located in the area [A4-20] on the right side of the general reception area of INTEX Osaka Building 6. We look forward to your visit.
