The Conference on African Development is an international conference on the theme of African development, led by the Japanese government and jointly held with the United Nations, United Nations Development Programme, African Union Commission, and World Bank. It has been held eight times since 1993, and the next ninth one will be held in 2025. Yokohama was the venue for the 4th Tokyo International Conference on African Development in 2008, the 5th in 2013, and the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development in 2019.
The 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development was attended by more than 10,000 participants from 53 African countries, including 42 leaders, as well as from Japan and abroad, making it the largest international conference hosted by Japan.
