Held in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, together with the Uonuma Fisheries Cooperative. The event was attended by 60 children from Minami Elementary School and Higashi Ojiya Elementary School in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, as well as related teachers, staff, and other stakeholders from local governments. The children
enthusiastically released young salmon into the water.

2 About the salmon fry release event at the Miyanaka Intake Dam (1) Date held: March 14, 2024 (Thursday) 10:10-11:00
(2) Location: Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, riverbed on the right bank of the Shinano River (near the Seseragi Fishway of the Miyanaka Intake Dam) (3) Co-sponsors: Nakauonuma Fisheries Cooperative Association (4) Participating organizations, etc.: Tokamachi City, TEPCO Renewable Power Co., Ltd. (5) Invitation    Tazawa Elementary School, Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture (6) Implementation status The event was held in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, together with the Nakauonuma Fisheries Cooperative. The event was attended by 35 children from Tazawa Elementary School in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, as well as relevant teachers and staff, as well as local government and other stakeholders. The children were able to interact with the young salmon directly and release the young salmon into the river with the hope that they would return upstream in 3 to 5 years.
