On April 1, 2024, we will draw our next dream.
Next generation Workplace Learning (WPL)
By expanding our knowledge and supporting learning optimized for individual workplaces, we contribute to the development of human resources who can learn on their own and play an active role in the future.

* ■Current status of workplace learning and its necessity*
Workplace learning is essential for the growth of business people, and it is said that approximately 90% of learning is gained at work. In addition, the modern business environment is characterized by VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity), creating challenges that cannot be addressed using traditional learning methods alone. In today’s rapidly changing society, it is no longer sufficient to rely solely on traditional learning methods such as off-the-job training and standardized on-the-job training. It is more important than ever to develop “workplace learners” who can adapt to changes in the workplace and have an active learning attitude.

* ■Next-generation WPL concept*
“Next-generation WPL” refers to learning methods that are optimized to suit the characteristics of each workplace. In order for employees to learn from their own successes and failures, for line managers to support their learning, and for the entire organization to continue creating new value, changes in the behavior patterns of everyone in the workplace are required.

For example, in the next generation of WPL, we would expect the following behaviors:
– Employees find meaning in their work and grow by reflecting deeply on their own experiences, discovering lessons, and repeatedly taking on new challenges.
– Line managers provide self-reflection support to maximize the experiential learning of subordinates and serve as facilitators to promote learning within the team.
– Executives are responsible for overseeing growth and creating an environment of high engagement.
In order to create such a WPL environment, we believe it is necessary to appoint a person in charge of WPL promotion and strategically design WPL.
* ■Steps towards realizing your dreams*
In February 2024, we published “WPL3.0: Learning by yourself and developing human resources who will play an active role in the future – Theory and practice of workplace learning.”

Through the publication of , we widely shared our ideas for promoting next-generation WPL. Starting with this, we are gradually rolling out seminars to put this new learning model into practice, project support services to support the promotion of WPL, and the provision of design scheme packages. Through our efforts, we aim to explore new
possibilities for workplace learning and produce concrete results with people in management, planning departments, human resource development departments, and operations departments.
