UMF, a general incorporated association, is an event production organization based on the concept of “social issues x entertainment.” One such initiative is the *#vote_for project*, which aims to turn Japanese elections into festival-like events that people want to participate in and increase voter turnout.
This is an election campaign in which you can receive various benefits when you vote in the election, and we are conducting this campaign with over 250 partner stores such as restaurants and retail stores nationwide. In addition, on the day of the election, we hold a music festival where you can enjoy free music if you vote.
What is the #vote_for project?
Up until now, it has been held in the 2020 Osaka Metropolis Plan referendum, the 49th House of Representatives general election in 2021, the 26th House of Councilors election in 2022, the Kitakyushu mayoral election in 2023, the unified local elections in the same year, and the Moriguchi City Council election in the same year. Since then, over 10,000 people have used coupons to enjoy festivals and receive special experiences in stores.
And this summer, we are planning to implement it in the *Tokyo gubernatorial election*.
It may not be possible to hold a festival at the National Diet Building, but I would like to envelop the day when Japan’s future will be decided with a whirlwind of festival-like enthusiasm.
That challenge begins today.
The coronavirus pandemic has finally come to an end, and we can meet everyone without hesitation! Now you can experience the excitement of the festival to your heart’s content. I now feel that the starting line for our true challenge is “from here”.
Amidst this, a variety of notable elections will be held this year, including the Tokyo gubernatorial election. Next year there will be an election for the House of Councilors.
