Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st the day to share dreams. This press release is a dream of “Ailife Co., Ltd.”

(Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Atsushi Fujita, hereinafter referred to as “Airlife”), which develops a total support business for seniors, has produced the “Tokyo Seniors Collection”, a fashion show exclusively for seniors. We have started preparations for the event.
Airifu’s corporate vision is to “create a society free of the worries of nursing care,” and we aim to solve the various problems that arise in the lives of seniors and build support systems to help them live more affluent lives. We are solving problems through the power of business.
Background of the project
As the population ages, the number of events targeting seniors is steadily increasing. Furthermore, as the generation that enjoyed the bubble era in the past is now entering their 60s, traditional values toward the elderly are changing, and they are actively participating in events to deepen interactions and express themselves freely. The number of seniors who continue is increasing. However, many of these people are mainly called active seniors.
On the other hand, I think there are still very few places or situations where people who have been certified as requiring support or nursing care and who live in elderly care facilities can express themselves or attract attention. We want to create a place where people across Japan who have been certified as needing support or nursing care can shine! We want to provide a place where you can literally shine in the spotlight and create an opportunity that will be the most memorable of your life! This event was born out of this desire.
What kind of fashion show is “Tokyo Seniors Collection”?
This fashion show is open to all seniors who are certified as requiring support level 1 to level 5, including those using
wheelchairs. The proposed venue is Shinjuku, Tokyo. In the plaza of the Shinjuku Nomura Building, under the cherry blossom trees in Shinjuku Central Park, or in the crowds of Kabukicho… You will walk down the runway with the typical Tokyo scenery in the background. There are no restrictions when it comes to fashion, and the only rule is to wear clothes that you think look good on you and that you want to wear. The memorable kimono you wore at your coming-of-age ceremony, the uniform you always wore at work… You may choose to coordinate your favorite dress in a glamorous way, or you may choose to show up in your grandchild’s sailor suit. Wear your favorite clothes, walk confidently down the runway, and strike a pose.

For example, we provide information on how to hold qualifying events for each organization in order to participate in the actual event, rehabilitation programs to help wheelchair users walk as many steps as possible on the runway, makeup guidance, walking instructions, etc. This is a fun way to participate.
Living a rich and healthy life with seniors forever
The concept of “Tokyo Seniors Collection” is well-being. And we are creating a place to make that happen. “It’s a place where I can be myself and have fun.” “This event has become my big goal and purpose in life.” We hope to create an event that seniors can view in this way.
The expected effects of “Tokyo Seniors Collection” are not limited to this. “I want to do my best in rehabilitation for this day,” and by participating in rehabilitation, from a micro perspective, we can improve the level of care required and prevent nursing care, and from a macro perspective, we can reduce nursing care insurance costs and maintain sustainability. I hope that this will lead to the
establishment of a viable social security system.
Hajime Oka of the Tenancy Consultation Department, the inventor of the Tokyo Seniors Collection, says the following. “I think there should be more opportunities for people living in nursing homes, which tend to be closed-minded, to shine. Everyone there, including themselves and their families, smiles and is moved to tears. I think we will be able to create a new, wonderful place and space filled with energy. In the future, this initiative may become indispensable for improving the level of care needed by seniors and creating a sense of purpose in life.”
At Airilife, we are currently preparing for the event while also considering collaboration with organizations with the same
aspirations.
