Heiwado Co., Ltd. (Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Representative Director, President and CEO: Masatsugu Hiramatsu, hereinafter referred to as “Heiwado”) will be selling the novel “Naruse Goes to Take Over the World” at the Friend Mart Otsu Terrace store starting April 1st (Monday). We would like to inform you that we will be holding a special project to commemorate the fact that “ has been nominated for the 24th Bookstore Award.

“Naruse Goes to Take Over the World”, published in 2023, is a novelist Mina Miyajima’s debut work, but it became an unusually big hit, and was nominated for the 24th Bookstore Award. The work and the main character, Akari Naruse, are receiving more and more attention. In addition, in the sequel “Naruse Walks the Path He Believed in” published in January 2024, a fictitious store “Heiwado Friend Mart Otsu Uchidehama Store” appears as the part-time job for the main character, Akari Naruse.
To commemorate the nomination for the Bookstore Award, from April 1st (Monday) to June 30th (Sunday), the Friend Mart Otsu Terrace store, which is the model for the store that appears in the story, will be held. As a special project for “Iku”, we will set up a life-size panel of Akari Naruse in her Heiwado uniform and a special message board. Additionally, during this period, we will be participating as a rally spot for the “Stamp Rally to Dedicate This Spring to Naruse,” which will tour sites in Otsu City that are associated with novels, sponsored by Shiga Prefecture. Please enjoy the world of “Naruse follows the path he believes in”.
-Summary of special project at Friend Mart Otsu Terrace store- ■Location: Oh! Me Otsu Terrace 1st floor, Friend Mart Otsu Terrace store, in front of the escalator
■Period: April 1st (Monday) to June 30th (Sunday), 2024
■Installation of life-sized panels
In the sequel, the main character works part-time at the Friend Mart Otsu Uchidehama store, so a life-sized panel of him in a Heiwado uniform will be installed.
■“Reader Feedback” message board
We will set up a message board where you can post messages to the main character, Naruse, and the author, Mina Miyajima, modeled after the “customer voices” that appear in the sequel. After the project is completed, we will send a message to the author.
