The certified NPO United Nations WFP Association (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture) is pleased to inform you that the regular general meeting of councilors held on March 19th of this year resolved to re-elect its officers. With the retirement of four old officers and the appointment of five new officers, the number of officers of our association is now 11: the president/director, and 2 auditors. The brief biographies of the newly appointed officers are as follows. After graduating from Keio University’s Faculty of Economics, he joined Sanwa Bank, Ltd. (currently Mitsubishi UFJ Bank) in 1993. In the same year, he was assigned to the market department, and since then has held sales positions in a wide variety of industries, segments, and regions, including large companies, medium-sized companies, and small and medium-sized enterprises, and has
consistently been involved in a wide range of domestic and
international market sales operations. During that time, he was engaged in overseas marketing, regional sales management, and project management in London (2003-07), Singapore (2013-16), and London (2020-21), and also worked in the market for Japanese corporate customers in Japan. In 1994, he became the representative director and president of Nihon Shokuryo Shimbun. Since 2005, he has been working as an advisor for the United Nations WFP Association. We have built strong relationships with government officials, including successive Ministers of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. In 2001, he became the
representative coordinator of the 21st Century Food Managers Forum and Food Industry Culture Promotion Association. Current position since 2012.

After working for private companies and organizations, he worked for the United Nations WFP for 25 years starting in 1998. Starting from the headquarters in Rome, Italy, he has been involved in WFP activities in nine countries including Kosovo, Japan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, and Gambia. He spent 15 years working in Africa. Responsibilities include collaboration promotion and policy coordination at the headquarters and liaison offices, coordination of local food support activities, disaster preparedness and emergency support activities, implementation management of rural self-reliance promotion projects, and managerial positions at field offices (representative positions: The Gambia, Deputy Representative: Mauritania and Sierra Leone). After graduating from the Department of Urban Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he entered graduate school at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok. Dropped out of Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s doctoral course. He has worked at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). During his time at ESCAP, he was stationed in Bangkok and was involved in intercity collaboration and the launch of CityNet. During his time at the World Bank and ADBI, he was stationed in Manila and Hanoi, where he was involved in the creation of urban master plans and the introduction of private capital into infrastructure development. Joined Yokohama City in July 2008. Registered as a lawyer in 2003 (Dai-ichi Tokyo Bar Association). Serves as an executive and legal advisor for companies and non-profit organizations, providing specialized support for compliance issues in organizational management, as well as creating mechanisms to promote the circulation of funds for goodwill, such as donations and social investments. work on. In 2018, established Tarumoto Law Office (currently Inteas Law Office).
