INFORICH Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Hironobu Akiyama, hereinafter referred to as INFORICH), which operates the mobile battery sharing service “ChargeSPOT(R)”, has announced the launch of the sharing economy platform application “ShareSPOT”, which is also provided by INFORICH. The function has been incorporated into the ChargeSPOT app. As a result, ChargeSPOT users with a total of 7.88 million downloads (*) will be able to use multiple sharing services such as motorized bicycles and umbrellas with a single app, greatly improving convenience. ■ Background of function installation
“ChargeSPOT” started service in April 2018. The current number of installed devices is approximately 42,400 nationwide, and the cumulative number of downloads including Android apps is approximately 8.44 million. In order to further promote the sharing economy, we started providing the sharing economy platform app “ShareSPOT” in November 2022.
“Living without things” is becoming established as a culture that seeks a simple and free lifestyle, especially among young people, and in consumer behavior, there is a noticeable tendency to choose sharing and rental over ownership. .
A survey of ChargeSPOT users found that “I want to carry as little luggage as possible when I go out (96.5%)” and “I feel uncool when I have a lot of luggage” (80.8%) (*1) It seems that ChargeSPOT users have a high affinity for sharing services. In addition, as the number of inbound tourists visiting Japan increases (*2), local governments and companies are making progress in responding to inbound tourists, such as electronic payment and communication environment improvements. Sharing services, which are convenient for foreigners visiting Japan, will become an important infrastructure in the future, and demand is expected to continue to increase.
Against this background, by leveraging the large number of installed ChargeSPOTs and the number of users, we will develop “ShareSPOT” to further promote the sharing of all kinds of things in the city and expand opportunities to use sharing services. With this in mind, we have implemented a new UI.
We believe that the addition of the “ShareSPOT” function to the ChargeSPOT app will be an important step in shaping the future of the sharing economy, and we can expect it to contribute to a sustainable society in the future.
■ How to use “ShareSPOT” with the ChargeSPOT app
When you open the ChargeSPOT app, a new “ShareSPOT” tab will be displayed at the top of the screen. When you tap this tab, the participating services available in “ShareSPOT” will be displayed as pins on the map. Users can use the desired service by tapping the pin of the desired location and scanning the QR code.
There is no need to register as a member or download an app, and all participating services can be used with one app.
