■Details of the initiative
Bakan and Bell System 24 aim to update the toilet space by
distributing information on the UV index through the toilet
advertising media “Unveil” inside the toilet cubicles. “Headache” provided by Bell System 24 is a highly accurate weather forecast that combines easy-to-understand barometric pressure forecasts based on Japan Meteorological Agency data and 1.2 million pieces of physical condition information collected from app users each month. We provide disease forecasts. The toilet is one of the places we use frequently in our daily lives, and it is also the time when we are most likely to experience health-related concerns, so by unveiling health-related information caused by the weather in the toilet, we are trying to reach the limits of modern people. This allows you to efficiently maintain your health even in the time you have.

■Background and purpose of introduction
Until now, Unveil has been working on various initiatives to update the experience of users through the private space that they use on a daily basis, such as providing information on women’s health issues and distributing comedy content, as well as improving the value of the toilet space. We have conducted a questionnaire survey (*1) in order to improve our efforts.
The survey results showed that the weather forecast was the most desired information by toilet users, and that health-related information was also considered important. It was also discovered that women are highly interested in “weather information,” “fortune telling,” “hay fever index and heat stroke index,” “health
information,” and “beauty/cosmetic methods.” has been distributing weather forecasts, headache index, pollen index, etc. In the coming seasons, there will be more opportunities to be exposed to UV rays throughout the year, and women’s interest in their skin will increase accordingly, so information such as sunburn prevention measures based on the UV index will be important. . Therefore, from the desire to enrich the lives of users, both Bell System 24, which supports people with weather-related illnesses and anxieties such as ultraviolet rays, and Bakan, which wants to meet various needs. We are now able to make this a reality.
Through this collaboration, we will deliver a new toilet experience to users. In addition, we are now able to provide banner ads that can be displayed in conjunction with weather forecasts, and by expanding the range of content, we hope to support advertisers’ marketing activities that utilize toilets.

■About toilet advertising media “Unveil”
It is a digital signage media inside restrooms that began full-scale deployment at the end of 2020 and is being rolled out in approximately 10,900 locations (as of the end of March 2024), including offices and commercial facilities mainly in urban areas. Private restroom rooms are private spaces where you can concentrate on a one-on-one basis, making it possible to gain strong awareness and understanding of the contents of restroom users in offices and commercial facilities. Video content is played on the signage only when using the toilet, and the number of views and distribution results can be quantified.
In addition, by using patented technology (including pending applications) that changes the display on the screen depending on the length of stay, and automatically adjusts the length of advertisements depending on how crowded the toilet is. Congestion control is also achieved at the same time.

The promotion effect of the top and middle funnels was confirmed.
