■Background of the event
The new members of society graduating in 2024 are a generation that has spent much of their precious student years amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The “Kanda Nishiki Town Welcome Party” was planned as a place for people of this generation and others who work and live in the Kanda area to interact in real life. The aim is to bring together the residents and neighborhood association of historic Kanda, established companies, and startups to form a local community and warmly welcome new members of society.
■Using edge AI camera “ai cast” for event management
On the day of the event, an edge AI camera “ai cast”* compatible with the edge AI platform “Actcast” operated by Idein will be installed near the mikoshi carried by participants including new members of society. , obtain data on the number and attributes (gender, age) of event attendees. As a simple demonstration, you can see how data is captured in real time by projecting the dashboard screen onto a portable LCD monitor.

■Data collection with privacy in mind
Edge AI cameras have overwhelmingly superior security compared to cloud AI cameras. The acquired images and videos are processed in real time within the camera and are not sent to the cloud. The data sent to the server does not contain any personally identifying information, only text data resulting from the analysis. In addition, since images and videos are not left on the camera, there is no risk of data leakage in the unlikely event that the device is stolen.
