Bike sharing is expanding MaaS collaboration! You can use the bike share service from ChargeSPOT
~ Masanori Takeoka, President and Representative Director, took the stage at the “ChargeSPOT UI Renovation Presentation” hosted by INFORICH Co., Ltd. and explained the aim of ChargeSPOT collaboration ~ ……
The bike share service provided by Docomo Bike Share Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo) was previously provided by INFORICH Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which operates the mobile battery sharing service “ChargeSPOT.” By linking MaaS with the sharing platform app “ShareSPOT,” we have promoted the use of bike sharing services by “ShareSPOT” app members, not just our own apps.
Now that the “ShareSPOT” function has been installed in “ChargeSPOT”, the provision of bike share service will be expanded to “ChargeSPOT” users with a total of 7.88 million downloads (*1), and the bike share service will be seamlessly provided. You will be able to use it.

On April 18, 2024, Docomo Bike Share participated as a partner company in the “ChargeSPOT UI Renewal Presentation” held at the Komore Yotsuya Tower Conference, and President Takeoka took the stage.
In addition to providing an overview of the bike share service, Takeoka expressed his expectations for this collaboration: “The collaboration between ChargeSPOT, which has an overwhelming market share in Japan, and Docomo Bike Share, which is the most used in Japan, will provide a convenient service for users. Furthermore, this participation will allow us to connect with users who are not aware of bike sharing services, and we can expect a synergistic effect.”

For the future
The number of uses of the bike share service is increasing year by year, and in 2023 it was used more than 22 million times nationwide. In order to ensure that many customers can use our service comfortably at any time, we utilize AI to accurately understand bicycle relocation needs, and utilize our operational strengths to perform maintenance based on optimal repair standards and work resource management. We are operating. As a recent initiative, we have introduced new mobility such as electric three-wheeled bikes and electric carts in response to regional and local government issues and customer needs, creating new usage scenarios for mobility sharing. We are also expanding MaaS collaboration, including collaboration with ChargeSPOT, which allows bike sharing services to be used from apps of transportation and payment companies. We will continue to work on creating an environment that allows for seamless movement, and will expand the bike sharing service so that it can be easily used not only by our own app members but also by customers owned by other companies and apps.

Our mission is to contribute to Japan’s healthy and environmentally friendly urban development by providing new mobility services that are rooted in local communities and loved by people, and we work together with all stakeholders to realize a sustainable society. That’s what I’m aiming for.
In 2011, the bike share service began a social demonstration experiment in Yokohama City, and since then we have been promoting joint projects with local governments across the country and working to expand bike share services in the Japanese market.
In order to serve as a means of transportation for many customers, we use AI to predict demand and carry out operations 365 days a year to pull bicycles from ports where there is room for them and rebalance them to ports where there is a shortage. We are accumulating operational know-how to meet the high expectations of our customers, including spot collection of bicycles and the establishment of dedicated charging stations.
Currently, we operate a total of 28 areas as a directly managed business in Tokyo, Sendai, Yokohama, Kawasaki, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, Hiroshima, Oita, Kagoshima, and Okinawa, and provide a sharing platform system to 30 areas nationwide. We have a total of 58 areas. In May 2023, we will launch “Tokyo EV Bike Share (electric 3-wheel)” in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in the Tokyo waterfront area (Odaiba/Ariake area), as part of our zero-emission Tokyo initiative. We are working on creating moving scenes.
