* Sharing a parking lot makes it better for everyone! Examples of parking lot sharing at fireworks festivals*

* Initiative: *
*akippa Co., Ltd., Tsuchiura National Fireworks Competition Executive Committee*

■Initiative details
At the 92nd Tsuchiura National Fireworks Competition, one of the three major fireworks festivals in Japan, we shared a space for about 1,000 cars, such as a school playground, as a temporary parking lot, and operated it with advance reservations required at Akippa (* 1). The tickets were sold out in just one hour after reservations began, and we were also able to alleviate the traffic congestion problem on the day of the fireworks festival (*2).
By converting to DX and charging a fee for parking, we have achieved a win-win situation for visitors, the executive committee, local residents, and our company.
1. Visitors: Reservation required for peace of mind. On the day of the trip, you can drive there without worrying about the time. 2. Executive Committee: Share and utilize land that will not be used on the day, such as the school playground. This will secure financial resources.
3. Local residents: Avoid traffic congestion on the day. If private spaces are shared and used, money will also be saved in the local area.
4. Akippa: Monetization through fees. This will lead to the realization of the Mission/Vision.
Fireworks festivals held across the country are partially financed by taxes, but they often run into budget deficits, and it is said that it is difficult for the fireworks festivals to continue. According to a survey by Kyodo News, more than 25 tournaments nationwide will be canceled in 2023 due to financial difficulties (*3). In addition to existing methods such as paid booth seats, we believe that charging parking lots through advance reservations can solve transportation issues and also serve as a means of securing financial resources, contributing to the sustainability of the event itself. .

akippa’s vision is to “connect real people around the world,” but hundreds of fireworks displays and festivals, large and small, are held across Japan every year, and parking issues have become an issue. There are many cases where We hope that by utilizing “Share”, transportation issues will be alleviated and visitors will be able to spend their time enjoying the fireworks and the festival itself. We would like to protect fireworks displays and festivals that are important to local people by creating a virtuous cycle and making them sustainable events with many people visiting.

■Award-winning comment
akippa Co., Ltd. President and CEO Genki Kanaya
We are very honored to have been selected for the special award at the 1st National Sharing City Awards.
Akippa began efforts to share official parking lots and nearby private parking lots for fireworks festivals from 2023 last year. We are very happy that our efforts have helped many people solve their problems and brought about the benefit of all. In the future, we will continue to connect real-life “loves” such as fireworks displays and festivals through parking lots.

As a “problem solving company,” akippa will continue to work with local governments and companies across the country to solve various problems related to parking.

You can easily rent vacant spaces such as uncontracted spaces in monthly parking lots, garages of private residences, vacant lots, and commercial facilities as hourly parking lots from your smartphone, and drivers can reserve and pay in advance from the web or app. . Space rental and membership registration are free. We have over 40,000 reserved parking lots across the country at any given time, and are used for a variety of purposes, including watching sports, attending events, commuting to work, returning home, and traveling. To date, we have collaborated with more than 50 local governments and sports clubs to solve problems such as traffic congestion and lack of parking spaces.
