Akippa announces parking lot congestion forecast for 2024 Golden Week period *Belluna Dome is expected to be the most crowded on Sunday, April 28th* * akippa Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director), which operates the parking reservation app “akippa” (hereinafter referred to as “akippa”)
CEO: Genki Kanaya) will announce the nationwide parking lot congestion forecast for the Golden Week period (Saturday, April 27, 2024 to Monday, May 6, 2024 (holiday)). We hope that this will lead to solving traffic issues such as dispersing traffic and reducing wandering traffic due to searching for parking spaces. *
*
The location where the parking lot is expected to be the most crowded during Golden Week 2024 is Belluna Dome (Saitama Prefecture), with a congestion index (*1) of 500% and peak congestion on April 28th (Sunday). *

*1
The congestion index is independently compiled by Akippa to predict congestion based on data such as the number of coin-operated parking lots in the area and parking search needs at Akippa. This data is as of Monday, April 22, 2024.

* ■Top 10 airports and Shinkansen stations where parking lot congestion is expected*
Regarding airports and Shinkansen stations, the areas around Hakata Station (Fukuoka Prefecture, 135%) and Haneda Airport (Tokyo, 112%) are expected to be particularly crowded. Both are expected to peak on April 29th (Monday/Holiday) during the first half of Golden Week. ■Tourist spots/facilities where parking lot congestion is expected Top 10 The most crowded tourist destination/facility is Seibuen Amusement Park (Saitama Prefecture, 497%), followed by Miyajimaguchi (Hiroshima Prefecture, 439%). Eight of the top 10 spots are expected to be busier than last year.
■Top 10 event facilities where parking lot congestion is expected Facilities where events such as sports games and concerts are held are predicted to be over 400% crowded. In particular, Belluna Dome (Saitama Prefecture, 500%) is expected to be extremely crowded as a concert by popular artists is scheduled to be held on April 28th (Sunday), which is expected to be the peak day.
■Prefectures with many crowded parking spots
Looking at the top 50 most crowded parking spots by prefecture, they are relatively concentrated in the Kanto and Kansai regions. In other areas, localized congestion may occur, especially around tourist spots, facilities, and event facilities.
■Parking lot congestion forecast by major spots
If you look at some major spots, you can see that “crowded” and “slightly crowded” tend to be concentrated in the first half of Golden Week. In particular, Universal Studios Japan (Osaka Prefecture) is expected to be crowded every day.

Depending on the location, parking lots are expected to be crowded during Golden Week due to low supply or high demand. If you are considering going out by car, please consider searching for a parking spot in advance, reserving a parking spot, or park and ride, which means parking a little further away and taking public transportation. Akippa will continue to connect real-life “love” by solving various problems. * ■What is parking lot congestion forecast?*
