Nippon Mirai Agriculture Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naka-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, Representative Director: Masaki Kuboi, hereinafter referred to as Nippon Mirai Agriculture Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naka-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, CEO: Masaki Kuboi), which turns high-value-added agricultural products such as organic sweet potatoes into a 6th industry and handles everything from production to processing, sales, branding, and export. Japan Mirai Agriculture Group (Japan Mirai Agriculture Group) has raised approximately 700 million yen in the Series A investment round.

In this financing, Agribusiness Investment and Consultation Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Executive Officer and President: Kyoji Horibe;
“Agribusiness investment development”), Numajiri HLDGS (Headquarters: Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Representative Director: Toshimasa Numajiri, hereinafter referred to as Numajiri HLDGS, a shareholder company based in Ibaraki Prefecture that handles various services centered on logistics)

Lotte Ventures), venture capital firms, individual investors, and other investors underwrote capital increases, raising a total of approximately 700 million yen in Series A funding.

Japan Mirai Agriculture Group will use the funds raised this time to expand the scale and improve productivity of the following businesses, as well as strengthen domestic and overseas sales.

*Sweet potato business*
The Japan Mirai Agriculture Group cultivates sweet potatoes (mainly Beniharuka) organically on its approximately 50 ha farm in Ibaraki Prefecture, and uses the sweet potatoes as raw material to produce dried potatoes at its own factory. The production scale of organic dried sweet potatoes is among the top in Japan. In 2022, sweet potatoes (Beniharuka) harvested at our own farm won the “Sweet Potato of the Year” award at the Japan Sweet Potato Summit, one of Japan’s largest sweet potato competitions. ” Brand awareness is increasing. Using this funding, we will work to expand production and sales of sweet potato ingredients and processed products, for which demand is expected to increase around the world as health consciousness increases.

* Trading business of agricultural products and processed agricultural products *
In addition to sweet potatoes and dried potatoes sold under the Terunuma brand, we are expanding our trading business to export high value-added agricultural products and processed agricultural products (fruits, including strawberries, etc.) produced in Ibaraki Prefecture and Japan. The Japan Mirai Agriculture Group has been building overseas sales channels for many years based in Thailand, and will actively work on sales in Asia where the market for high-quality Japanese agricultural products is expected to expand. We also plan to expand our sweet potato business in North America, where demand for organic agricultural products is high.

*Strawberry business*
In parallel with the sweet potato business, the Japan Mirai
Agriculture Group is developing the Chura Ichigo

” brand, we operate the largest strawberry tourist farm in Okinawa Prefecture. With Okinawa as our base, we will expand the production, processing, and sales of high-quality Japanese strawberries, which are in increasing demand around the world along with sweet potatoes, and sales both domestically and internationally.
