The 2024 edition of the “Career Education” booklet for elementary and junior high school students will be published in Miyazaki Prefecture. A teaching materials presentation ceremony was held at Takanabe Town Takanabe Nishi Elementary School.

K.P Creations Co., Ltd., which operates a regional branding business in Miyazaki Prefecture, has released a career education booklet for elementary and junior high school students that introduces jobs at companies that support the region: “Discovery: What Jobs Are There in Miyazaki Prefecture? 2024 Edition” issue. In addition to distributing them free of charge to public elementary and junior high schools, a presentation ceremony was held at Takanabe Nishi Elementary School in Takanabe Town in the prefecture.

This career education booklet has been in the works since 2017 in the hope of contributing in some small way to local school education, and we are currently producing a booklet for elementary and junior high school students as well as a web version and distributing it free of charge. Fourth graders from Takanabe Nishi Elementary School attended the presentation ceremony on April 24th. People from the companies featured in the booklet also attended and listened intently to the words of people who work nearby and support people’s lives in the local area.

After the presentation ceremony, the children were divided into 10 groups and mini-lectures were held by participating companies. The children were very curious about what kind of work the company does and how they feel about it.

The 2024 edition features 42 companies in the prefecture and uses photos and illustrations to explain each company’s products and services, work flow, and role in society. The target audience is elementary and junior high school students, and the content is easy to understand and comprehensive. Additionally, we have also launched a web version that focuses on interviews with employees working in the field. We provide information that cannot be conveyed in a booklet using methods unique to the web. We hope that by using this teaching material and learning about familiar jobs that support the local community, children will have an opportunity to think about the future.
