When purchasing sunscreen, which is essential for protecting against UV rays during Golden Week, the most important thing to consider is the SPF value and PA value!
*Earth Care Co., Ltd. conducted a survey on “sunscreen” among 100 women between the ages of 30 and 50. [Survey results] When purchasing sunscreen, most people place importance on “SPF value/PA value”* As the weather gets warmer, many people are becoming more conscious of UV protection.
As a result of the survey, we found that when purchasing sunscreen, the majority of people place the most importance on SPF and PA values. * What is SPF *
・Protects UV-B rays that reach deep into the skin and cause wrinkles and sagging ・The higher the number, the higher the UV-B protection effect.
* What is PA *
・Protects UV-A rays that darken the skin and cause age spots ・It is written in four stages: PA+, ++, +++, +++++, and the higher the number of +, the higher the UV-A wave prevention effect.
However, this does not mean that the higher the SPF/PA value, the better. Choose the UV protection effect that is appropriate for the scene in which you will use it.
Please refer to the following for guidelines on SPF/PA values for each usage scene.
The UV protection rate*, which measures how much UV rays do not actually reach the skin when applying sunscreen with each SPF value to the skin, has been clarified.
The defense rates for each are as follows.
・The protection rate of SPF15 is 93%
・The protection rate of SPF30 is 96.7%
・The protection rate of SPF50 is 98%
*The difference between SPF30 and SPF50 is only 1.3%*.
As mentioned earlier, sunscreens with high SPF values often have a heavy burden on the skin.
