Recently, due to the growing labor shortage due to the declining birthrate and aging population, there has been a movement to extend the retirement age. In addition, the term “20 million yen in retirement” is becoming more and more popular, and more and more people are starting to work with their retirement in mind. This time, we surveyed doctors, who are generally said to have a high salary level and who can work for the rest of their lives as long as they hold a medical license, about their future prospects in terms of work style, money, private life, and future career plans. Did.

1. 74.6% feel anxious about the future
61.4% of doctors answered that they had “vague concerns” about the future, such as money, work style, and private life, and 13.2% of doctors answered that they had “definite concerns,” making 74.6% of doctors feel anxious. This is the result. In addition, when asked about specific concerns about money, “money” was the most common answer at 43.3%.

When asked how many years they would like to work in the future, the most common answer was “over 70” (24.5%), followed by “I want to work for the rest of my life, regardless of age”. “I want to work as a professional” (23.6%), followed by “I want to work until the age of 65 to 69” (22.6%).
We found that more than 70% of doctors want to continue working beyond the age of 65, which is becoming the mainstream retirement age for companies. There were also many comments about money, such as children’s school fees, loan payments, and retirement funds.

66.8% of doctors answered that they have assets in place for retirement, indicating that more than 60% of doctors are preparing assets for retirement. Regarding specific assets, “NISA (Small Investment Tax Exemption System)” (180) was the most common, followed by “Deposits and Savings” (169) and “iDeCo (Individual Defined Contribution Pension)” (167).
