Dr.Foods Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, Representative Director: Koichi Ishizuka, hereinafter referred to as Dr.Foods), a food tech company, announced on May 8, 2024, that it would be selling “vegetable truffles” at Wayback Burgers Omotesando store in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. We held a press conference to announce the release of “Butter” and the creation of the world’s first three major delicacies using plant-based ingredients.
Dr.Foods will develop and start selling vegetable foie gras in 2022. We are planning to develop and start selling plant-based caviar in 2023, and with the development and start of sales of plant-based truffle butter on May 8, 2024, we have completed the development of the world’s first three major plant-based delicacies.
In the future, production of this product will be carried out at Marma Foods Co., Ltd. (Iwate Prefecture), just like vegetable-based foie gras and caviar.
“Vegetable Truffle Butter” uses the highest quality truffles from Tuscany, and is intended to be used by restaurants around the world.
