Triumph Motorcycles Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kaigan, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Yosuke Onuki) has filed a recall notification with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism regarding the following as a safety recall.
Due to an inappropriate control program in the engine control module of a Triumph motorcycle, the engine may become abnormally hot when the ambient temperature is high and the motorcycle is driven on a congested road. If you continue to drive in this state, it may overheat and you may become unable to drive.
Triumph believes that rider safety is of the utmost importance and has therefore announced this recall.
Affected motorcycles will be reinstalled with a countermeasure version of the engine control module software at an authorized Triumph dealer. Triumph will send a direct email to all recalled customers informing them of this notice and directing them to contact their nearest authorized Triumph dealer.
