“Ryukyu Golden Kings designed seaweed” will now be available for school lunches in Okinawa Prefecture.
Prior to its availability in Okinawa Prefecture, it appeared on school lunch menus at elementary and junior high schools in its hometown of Okinawa City on May 8th (Wednesday). In addition, the mascot Gordy visited Okinawa City Goeku Elementary School and distributed “King’s Design Nori” to the second grade class.
King’s Design Nori will continue to be provided in school lunches in Okinawa Prefecture.
This first-ever initiative is being held at the Okinawa City School Lunch Center as part of food education, with the aim of helping as many children as possible to eat without picky eating habits and to build a healthy and strong body. With cooperation, the materials were provided to each elementary and junior high school.
While serving King’s Design Nori, Gordie watched the students eat their school lunch and interacted with the children at Goeku Elementary School. Many children told him, “The seaweed was delicious,” and “Good luck in the game,” which gave Gordy a lot of encouragement.
We will continue to support the growth and healthy development of local children.
