One of Japan’s three major professional wind orchestras, *Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra*, will be holding a concert with the theme of “cinema music”, *“Cinema Wind Orchestra”*
will be held on Saturday, May 18th at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Main Hall.

Until now, the orchestra has held various concerts with themes such as “Dragon Quest”, “Evangelion”, and “John Williams”, as well as games and anime works, as well as single composers, but this time the theme was “film music.” It’s a great time to enjoy an overwhelming performance of a famous song that reminds you of a famous scene from a movie with just one note.

Disney classics such as “Aladdin” and “Beauty and the Beast” will be performed. As a program unique to the orchestra, the lineup mainly includes songs from the series “New Sounds in Brass” that started in 1972, arranging domestic and international rock, pop, and jazz music for wind orchestra. The many famous arrangements will thrill not only current students who belong to the brass band club, but also those with experience.

The conductor will be * Kazuki Wada *, and the host will be former Nippon Television announcer * Shinobu Matsumoto *.

The “Cinema Wind Orchestra” performance was selected for the Children’s Cultural and Artistic Activities Support Project (project to support children’s viewing experiences at theaters, music halls, etc.) by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
Children aged 6 to 18 are invited free of charge. We will offer seats at half price to accompanying parents.

By supporting initiatives that provide children with opportunities to appreciate and experience authentic performing arts in theaters, music halls, etc., we aim to cultivate a rich sense of humanity in children, and to help them become future leaders of culture and the arts. Born in Nakano Ward, Tokyo.
In 2011, he won the Excellence Award at the Londrina Music Festival in Brazil, and in 2015 he won second place in the 6th Bucharest International Conductor Competition. In 2017, he made his European debut conducting the Iași Moldova Philharmonic Orchestra. He was enthusiastically supported by the orchestra and the audience, and since receiving the title of “Youngest Guest Conductor of the Year” from the general director of the orchestra, he has continued to guest perform every season.
He has been in charge of conducting and providing guidance for the drama “Nodame Cantabile” and the movie “Maestro!”.

Born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. After graduating from Sophia University’s Faculty of Foreign Studies, he joined Nippon Television. He has served as general host for “24 Hour TV”, regular MC for “Law Consulting Center”, “Zoom In Morning”, and local anchor for the Olympics, and has been active in various news, information, news, and variety programs. Since 2009, he has worked as a freelance announcer and regular MC for TBS’s “I want to put it on the textbook!” In addition to TV, he is also a member of the selection committee for the Hochi Shimbun’s “Hochi Film Award,” hosts classical concerts, and reads aloud for children. It was established as the “Kosei Wind Orchestra” in May 1960, and then changed its name to the “Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra” in 1973. Japan’s world-class professional wind orchestra has been active as the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra since April 2022.
From April 2024, Takeshi Oi will be the 6th permanent conductor, and Aki Nakahashi will be the musician. The conductor laureate is Frederic Fennell, the special guest conductor is Thomas Sanderling, and the principal guest conductor is Norichika Iimori.
