When you think of “Niigata,” you think of rice and alcohol, but that’s not all!
JR East Niigata Branch has started an “area promotion” campaign starting May 6th, in which areas in Niigata Prefecture that are recommended for future outings will be intensively broadcast on digital signage at some stations in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Masu.

Area promotion from May 6th to 19th is Joetsu Shinkansen
Introducing the Tokamachi area that you can visit on the Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line from Echigo-Yuzawa Station. Tokamachi’s sightseeing spots “Kiyotsu Gorge”, “Hoshitoge Rice Terraces”, and “Bijinrin” are in season of fresh greenery and water mirrors, and are views that can only be seen during this time.

The area promotion from May 20th to June 2nd will introduce Oze, which can be accessed via the Uonuma route from Urasa Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen, which will begin operating from June 1st. Oze National Park stretches across four prefectures: Niigata, Fukushima, Gunma, and Tochigi. Oze, which can be visited by bus and boat from Urasa Station, is an unexplored route.
