……
Fumiya Mua (real name: Fumiya Matsushima) is a member of the fire knife dance team “Shibaora” at Spa Resort Hawaiians, which is operated by Tokiwa Kosan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, Representative: Junichi Nishizawa). We won 2nd place at the 31st Fire Knife Dance World Championship held at the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu, Hawaii. This is a feat that follows his older brother, Yuya Matsushima (real name: Yuya Matsushima), who became the first Asian to win second place in 2018.
The tournament was held over two days from May 8th (Thursday) to May 9th (Friday), 2024, with 32 participants from various countries including Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Las Vegas, and Florida. Two players from the Spa Resort Hawaiians participated: Fumiya Mua (second time) and Ryota Afi (first time). *Please see below for the details of the tournament.
・Day 1: Preliminary round (32 participants)
This was Fumiya Mua’s second attempt since 2019, and he passed the preliminary round in 1st place and was selected as one of the three finalists who will advance to the final round.
Incidentally, Afy Ryota, who was participating for the first time, unfortunately lost in the preliminary round.
・Day 2: Final round (3 participants)
In the final round, he appeared second and showed off his magnificent performance. Supported by the loud cheers of the audience, they finished in second place. He is the second Shiba Ora member to achieve this feat, following his older brother, Yuya Matsushima (real name: Yuya Matsushima), who became the first Asian to win second place in the 2018 tournament.
