Kanagawa Prefecture version “Cancer prevention MAP”
CancerX, a general incorporated association (co-representative directors: Naoto Ueno, Akinori Kasuya, Nami Itabashi), which aims to create a society where people do not get upset even when they are told they have cancer, created Kanagawa Prefecture’s version of the “Cancer Prevention MAP” together with Kanagawa Prefecture. Announced. Background and history of activities:
“Cancer Prevention MAP” is the 2021 World Cancer Prevention MAP. It was launched as a result of Week’s CancerX session. Following this session, CancerX JAM “Information x Education Ideathon” was held in March of the same year.
A team was formed under the initiative “Let’s create a cancer prevention map” and has been working on creating a map to prevent cancer patients and their families from getting lost in information. The team’s activities are based on the CancerX JAM “Information x Education -” held in May of the same year.
New members joined the “Let’s Create a Cancer Prevention MAP” presentation competition, further strengthening the group. Since then, we have been working on creating a cancer prevention map through regular online meetings, and by leveraging the expertise and experience of a diverse range of members, not just medical
professionals, we have completed the first original version to provide better information.

Original version “Cancer Prevention MAP”
MAP concept:
“Cancer Prevention MAP” has the slogan “Don’t get lost in cancer,” and aims to provide a guidepost of high-quality information for cancer patients and their families. It is built with an intuitive design similar to a subway route map so that you can get to the information you need without getting confused by the huge amount of information. The MAP incorporates a two-dimensional code, displays a web page that can be easily accessed from a smartphone, and organizes information. Additionally, friendly illustrations have been added to make the tool an easy-to-use tool for cancer patients and their families.

Kanagawa Prefecture’s version of the “Cancer Prevention MAP” has been completed. This MAP is a compilation of information that is useful for cancer patients and their families in Kanagawa Prefecture, making use of the experience we have cultivated through our activities to date.
Features of Kanagawa Prefecture version:
The “Cancer Prevention MAP Kanagawa Prefecture Edition” provides information on cancer in Kanagawa Prefecture divided into various categories, just like the original version of the Cancer Prevention MAP, such as cancer screening and treatment. Information can be obtained immediately by scanning a QR code, helping patients and their families find appropriate treatment and support.

Future prospects:
The “Cancer Prevention MAP” will be published in printed form, and there are plans to release it on the web in the future. Furthermore, we will continue to support cancer patients and their families by evolving MAP and using it in each region and accessing it online. Furthermore, as part of the CancerX subcommittee activities, we plan to launch an interactive project to consider the challenges that cancer patients, their families, and local communities face during disasters in Japan.
