Birkenstock celebrates 250 years of shoemaking history this year. Celebrating this tradition, we will be collaborating with Osaka’s communities that resonate with the brand to present a variety of content each week with a different theme. Our community of users of all ages, nationalities, professions, genders, and backgrounds is a symbol of Birkenstock’s uniqueness. At this pop-up shop, you can enjoy content curated by various collaborators who liven up the Osaka and Tokyo communities. The venue for the pop-up shop will be CLEOPATRA, a select shop that has always been at the cutting edge in Horie, the epicenter of Osaka’s trends and culture. The lighting was handled by Osaka-based interior shop Raw Light Space, and the interior was designed by Mota, featuring vintage lighting from various eras that evokes the 250-year history of Birkenstocks, and a design shaped like a human foot. The natural wood table catches your eye. The music, created by sampling various sounds from the streets of Osaka, was created especially for the pop-up shop by AOKI takamasa. For four weeks, the pop-up, packed with Osaka’s unique charm, will convey the brand’s message not only through Birkenstock products but also through the world view woven by its community. The theme of the content will change every week, and we will introduce unique content from a variety of collaborators, and we will also hold events based on the theme on the weekends. CONTENTS 1 (Contents 1) GROOVE – Amplifying the waves of music, art, and culture with BIRKENSTOCK Period: 5/10 (Friday) – 5/16 (Thursday) Opening reception: 5/10 (Friday) 19:00- 21:00 The first theme is GROOVE, featuring Osaka’s popular DJ FULLHOUSE and tattoo artist HASKEY. Along with conceptual music created by AOKI takamasa for the pop-up shop, you can experience art and culture with all five senses at the venue. At the opening reception, you can enjoy a DJ performance by FULLHOUSE, live painting by HASKEY, and catering such as Niko Tachishokuten’s Vienna Takoyaki, a mix of Germany and Osaka.

Dances inspired by the earth will also be featured inside the pop-up shop. Those who purchase Birkenstock products during the event will receive a lunch box furoshiki designed by Aoi Yamada. At an event held during the event, Niko Tachishokuten, a very popular standing bar in Osaka, will be serving bento boxes made with vegetables from Happo Bime on a first-come, first-served basis.

Works by Osaka-based artist Masaho Yasunotani will be displayed at the pop-up shop, and during the event, participants will have a lunch time supervised by AC HOUSE, an Osaka-born and Nishiazabu-based artist, and then try walking with walking trainer Ikko Masuda.

Kohei Makita of the Japan Hot Bath Association and Okemi, a hot bath facility enthusiast, talk about foot health. During the event, a hot spring footbath will be available in front of the pop-up shop. Relax your feet further with the background music of EVIS BEATS, a truck maker from Kansai. Those who purchase Birkenstock products during the event will receive a free towel with the Japan Hot Bath Association logo.
