We provide hints for management agendas, such as how to think about foreseeable scenarios.
Based on their daily consulting work, seven consultants from the ADL Japan office wrote the foreword: 1. Perspective setting for insight into an uncertain future, 2. Business factfulness in making “Go or No Go” decisions, 3. Digital-based intelligence ecosystem strategy in the SX/GX era, 4. Saving workplaces where pride as engineers is being oppressed by “bureaucratic” front-loading, 5. Electricity with the increase in distributed power sources We discuss this from six perspectives: the direction of business solutions to network stability issues, and (6) recent trends in metal scrap recycling and the hypothesis of the importance of resilient management.
We will distribute this issue free of charge in PDF format to anyone who requests it. If you are interested, please contact us using the ADL inquiry form listed in this release.
■ “Side by Side” Vol.9 Table of Contents and Overview
Foreword. “Assessing Ambiguity” (Naoya Furuta/Partner)
1. Perspective setting for insight into an uncertain future (Atsuro Inoue/Principal)
From a practical perspective, we propose how to balance broad change insight with a view to bold changes in corporate roles and business fields, and extraction of meaningful suggestions for your company. 2. “Business” factfulness in “Go or No Go” decisions (Kazuma Hamasaki / Principal)
In order to determine “Go or No Go” in management, we will clarify what “business” factfulness is as a necessary attitude for management decisions, and what “business” factfulness decisions are.
3. Digital-based intelligence ecosystem strategy in the SX/GX era (Takaharu Miura/Principal)
We provide detailed recommendations on how to view the market and how to compete, which can be essential capabilities to survive in the SX (Sustainability Transformation) and GX (Green Transformation) era. 4. Saving workplaces where pride as engineers is being oppressed by “bureaucratic” front-loading (Masahiro Araimoto/Manager)
In product development, where there is a strong demand for cost reduction, we will explain the key points for success based on the perspective of man-hours and technology regarding the issues faced when frontloading product development.
5. Direction of business solutions to power network stability issues due to increase in distributed power sources (Naoki Matsuo/Principal) Since the full liberalization of electricity, the person responsible for providing “affordable and stable electricity supply” has become unclear, and various changes are occurring, such as the emergence of aggregators and the introduction of grid storage batteries.
Considering how electricity market participants should find the optimal solution from a business perspective
6. Recent trends in metal scrap recycling and the hypothesis of the importance of resilient management (Masatake Einaga / Manager) Focusing on the metal recycling business, we will provide an overview of the supply chain and discuss possible solutions to deal with uncertainty.
