Japanese furniture brand Ritzwell’s “GQ SIDE TABLE” won the globally prestigious design award “Red Dot Design Award”
2024” (Germany).
*One of the world’s largest design awards with a history of over 60 years. Ritzwell (Headquarters, Fukuoka Prefecture) has won this award three times in the past, and this time it was awarded the GQ SIDE Award.

The Red Dot Design Award, selected by Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia Design Center, is one of the world’s largest design awards with a history of over 60 years. Designs that have been commercialized within the past two years will be judged based on nine criteria, including design innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecology, and durability.
Ritzwell has received this award for three products in the past. Among them, “JABARA AV BOARD” won the highest award in the product category in 2019.
Awarded “Best of the Best”. This “GQ SIDE TABLE” is the fourth product to receive the award since 2019.

A cantilever type side table made of different materials such as stainless steel, thick leather, and wood.
Because it is small and light, it is easy to carry and can be used in a variety of situations.
The simple structure of the narrow stainless steel frame gives it a modern look, while the decorative curved ribs cut from the thin flat bar give it a classic feel. The rim, which originally played a role in supporting the strength of the structure, was used as a design element, and what makes this unique form even more appealing is the presence of thick leather wrapped in stainless steel. Not only does it look warm, but by wrapping thick leather around the parts that are touched by hands or bare feet, it gives the user a sense of
relaxation.
In order to create the beautiful look of the thick leather integrated with the thin stainless steel frame, the stitching is a delicate process that can only be done by hand to create a sharp finish without making it stand out. The exquisite balance of stainless steel and thick leather created in this way brings out fun and movement in the space.
The thick leather wrapped around the stainless steel frame is hand-sewn one stitch at a time by skilled craftsmen.
The form is composed of soft organic curves, adding a gentleness to the cold appearance of stainless steel, creating a classic atmosphere. *DESIGNER*

Worked at a furniture manufacturer in Japan and Italy before reaching his current position. As the company’s chief designer, he handles product, graphic, and interior art direction. So far, many products have been announced at Milano Salone.
Born in Fukuoka in 1978. After graduating from the Department of Architecture at Kyushu Sangyo University, he worked in furniture production in Hida Takayama. twenty five
Moved to Italy alone at the age of 10. Trained at a studio that makes classical furniture in Italy, and after returning to Japan, began designing furniture by self-taught. After joining Ritzwell in 2005 and working as a designer, he was appointed representative director and creative director in 2018.
