NTTe-Sports Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Motoharu Harada, hereinafter referred to as “NTTe-Sports”) and Agec Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masahiko Kogo, hereinafter referred to as “NTTe-Sports”) AJEC will begin offering an “esports x training package” that allows companies to learn the elements of team building by incorporating the elements of competing in esports teams into training for corporate employees. In addition, in order to provide the service, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation Tokyo East Branch (location: Taito-ku, Tokyo, branch manager: Naoko Hatanaka, hereinafter referred to as “NTT East Tokyo East Branch”) will build a reservation system and target the company’s employees. A public trial (trial session) will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

1. Background and purpose
Recently, with the spread and establishment of remote work, an increasing number of companies are having issues with team building.In addition, the business world is now in the VUCA era*, where the future is uncertain and difficult to predict. ” Unforeseen events are occurring and conventional wisdom is changing. To survive in these times, we need to build strong teams with a high level of
psychological safety. On the other hand, companies have complained that typical team building training sessions often use case studies, making it hard for students to take the training seriously and making it difficult to see results.
*A coined word that stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity.
In response to this situation, we will utilize NTTe-Sports’ know-how and knowledge to solve the problems faced by companies through e-sports, and AJEC’s extensive track record in education and training projects, including training for companies and contracted training business operations for local governments. We have decided to jointly develop an “esports x training package.” The content of the training is for participants to experience and learn effective team building methods while seriously aiming for team victory and implementing a high-speed PDCA cycle.
2. “esports x training package” service content
The e-sports title uses team battles that are highly strategic and do not rely on playing technique as the theme. Students form teams and aim for victory as they repeatedly “formulate strategies” and “competition” at high speed. At the end of the training, both quantitative and qualitative self-evaluation and self-evaluation will be conducted. From the results, participants will be able to gain insights that will be useful for future team building, such as the gap between their own evaluations and those of others.
