The original work was serialized by Kimama Sousei for 12 years in “Monthly COMIC Ryu” (Tokuma Shoten), with a cumulative total of 1.7 million copies in the series.
An everyday fantasy comic depicting the daily life of a mysterious creature with a mushroom on its left ear – a mushroom dog – and the people around it. Two years have passed since the release of the final 15 volumes, and today, May 13th, we announced the decision to make it into a TV anime. At the same time, a teaser visual drawn by the original author, Kimama Aohei, and a special PV for the TV anime decision have been released. In addition, for the long-awaited TV anime adaptation, a newly drawn illustration with a message from the original author has arrived.
In addition, TV anime official X has started. To commemorate the decision to make it into a TV anime, we will be holding a “Follow & Repost W Present Campaign”. Depending on the number of followers, everyone will receive a digital control of Kinoko Inu, and a special mini colored paper using a newly drawn illustration with a message from the original story, Kimama Aosei, will be given away by lottery. Look forward to this fall’s broadcast of this work, which depicts the days with a mushroom dog that is cute but not just cute.

One day, a mushroom dog was suddenly born in the garden.
It looks like a dog with its tail wagging, but is it a mushroom? I want to draw where I shouldn’t and always eat all of my favorite takoyaki. I thought he was a child who was doing whatever he wanted, but he casually followed along, pretending to be an adult.
There are so many things that are mysterious to me, but it’s kind of fun and makes me laugh when we’re together.

Kimama Aosei Profile
“Kinoko Inu” was first published as a one-shot in the September 2010 issue of “Monthly COMIC Ryu” (Tokuma Shoten) and won the 7th Ryujin Award [Bronze Dragon Award]. After that, it was made into a series and serialized for 12 years until February 2022, and the final 15th volume was published on May 13, 2022. Currently, “Life with flowers” is being serialized in “Four Mrs.” (Akita Shoten).
