“Kinoko Inu”, a comic with a circulation of 1.7 million copies, will be made into a TV anime in the fall of 2024!

We are pleased to inform you that it has been decided that the comic “Kinoko Inu”, which has been serialized by Kimama Aohei for 12 years in “Monthly COMIC Ryu” (Tokuma Shoten) and has sold a cumulative total of 1.7 million copies, will be made into a TV anime. “Kinoko Inu” is an everyday fantasy comic depicting the daily life of “Kinoko Inu,” a mysterious creature with a mushroom on its left ear, and the people around it.

To commemorate the decision to make it into an anime, a teaser visual drawn by the original author Kimama Aohoshi and a special PV for the TV anime decision will be released today, May 13th (Monday). In line with the long-awaited TV anime adaptation, we will also release a newly drawn illustration with a message from the original author. In addition, TV anime official X (formerly Twitter) has also started. To commemorate the decision to make it into a TV anime, we will be holding a “Follow & Repost W Present Campaign”. Depending on the number of followers, we will give away a special mini colored paper using a newly drawn illustration with a message from the original author, Kimama Aohei, as well as a gift for all digicon fans of “Kinoko Inu”.
“Kinoko Inu” is a TV anime that depicts the daily lives of “Kinoko Inu” (Kinoko Inu, representative director of the production committee: Furyu), which is cute but not just cute. Please look forward to the broadcast this fall.

-Anime “Mushroom Dog” Introduction-
One day, a mushroom dog was suddenly born in the garden.
It looks like a dog with its tail wagging, but is it a mushroom? I want to draw where I shouldn’t and always eat all of my favorite takoyaki. I thought he was a child who was doing whatever he wanted, but he casually followed along, pretending to be an adult.
There are so many things that are mysterious to me, but it’s kind of fun and makes me laugh when we’re together.

The best staff and creators have created a wonderful anime!
Every time I check the script or storyboards, I laugh out loud and get excited…I’m always impressed.

■Kimama Aohoshi Profile
“Kinoko Inu” was first published as a one-shot in the September 2010 issue of “Monthly COMIC Ryu” (Tokuma Shoten) and won the 7th Ryujin Award [Bronze Dragon Award]. After that, it was made into a series and serialized for 12 years until February 2022, and the final 15th volume was published on May 13, 2022. Currently, “Life with flowers” is being serialized in “Four Mrs.” (Akita Shoten).
