Kenko Tokina Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toru Yamanaka) will begin selling “Magnetic Mount System Base Ring/Conversion Ring”, a ring that can convert screw-in filters to magnetic ones, by May 2024. It will start from the 17th of the month. Prices are open, but in our own online shop, base rings range from 1,701 yen (49mm) to 2,400 yen (82mm) (all prices include tax). Conversion rings range from 1,901 yen (49mm) to 2,500 yen (82mm) (all prices include tax).
The “Magnetic Mount System” is a filter system that uses the power of magnets to instantly attach, detach, and replace filters.

Prepare the magnetic mount system base ring, conversion ring, and commercially available screw-in filter.
Screw the base ring onto the lens.
Screw the conversion ring onto the filter.
Attach the filter to the lens using the magnetic force.
