Following on from a survey conducted last year in March 2023, Teizen (Direct Cloud) will survey 330 employees in information
systems-related departments of companies in March 2024.
We conducted a “Cloud Storage Usage Survey” targeting 30,000 people. We will publish the results of the investigation.

Regarding the usage status of cloud storage, “Cloud storage” was 52.0%, “File server” was 48.6%, and “NAS” was 26.2%.
Compared to last year’s survey results (*), the usage rate of “cloud storage” increased by 3.7%. Based on these results, it seems that the shift from NAS/file servers to cloud storage is progressing.

* ■The importance of “data governance and information leak prevention” is increasing for the purpose of introducing cloud storage*
Regarding the purpose of introducing cloud storage, 38.7% said “transferring large files or highly confidential files”, 33.9% “eliminating file servers (migration of file servers to cloud)”, The result was “Disaster countermeasures/disaster recovery” at 30.4%. Compared to last year’s survey results (*), there were particularly large differences in “data governance and information leak
prevention”, resulting in an increase of 4.6%. It is believed that the move away from file servers and PPAP is being promoted to a certain extent, and the need for “file sharing with business partners” and “data governance and information leak prevention” is increasing.

* ■Security is the number one important point when selecting cloud storage* The important points when choosing cloud storage were “security (availability, confidentiality, integrity)” at 63.5%, “cost” at 53.0%, and “storage capacity” at 47.4%.
Compared to last year’s survey results (*), there was a particularly large difference in “Awareness/Trustworthiness”, resulting in an increase of 2.7%.In addition to security, cost, etc., awareness and trustworthiness have increased more than ever. It is possible that this is the case.

As can be seen from the results of this survey, the important points when migrating to cloud storage are “security,” “cost/capacity,” and “awareness/reliability.”
It turned out that there was a lot of emphasis.
