ABC Shokai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Shigeki Higashikawa), which develops, manufactures, imports, and sells building materials, has released “Basecoat AQ”, a water-based undercoat material that doubles as a primer and undercoat.
In recent years, efforts to achieve the SDGs and a decarbonized society have become more active around the world, and the construction industry is no exception. At our company, we are developing new products, establishing water-based products for existing products, and expanding our lineup in order to make synthetic resin flooring materials used in factories and warehouses water-based.
The recently released “Basecoat AQ” is an environmentally friendly undercoat material that is water-based but has the same durability as conventional solvent-based primers. It has little odor and does not use toxic, deleterious substances, or specified chemical substances, so installers can work with peace of mind. As it is a non-hazardous material, there is no limit to the amount stored on-site according to the Fire Service Act.
Additionally, from April 2024, “overtime work cap regulations” will be applied to the construction industry. In order to continue working as usual while correcting long working hours, it is essential to improve operational efficiency. “Basecoat AQ” doubles as a primer and undercoat, so it cures quickly and shortens the construction period. For example, with our company’s epoxy resin-based flooring material, “Chemicrete E Nagashi-nobe Coating Method,” the process of primer, undercoat, and topcoat can be completed in as little as one day, compared to the usual two days.
Our company has set a sales target of 150 million yen for this product within three years. Based on our environmental and quality philosophy and policy, we will strive to develop and introduce products that are environmentally friendly, have improved energy efficiency, and are sustainable, with a focus on building materials.
