Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand, has announced the winners of its 2024 Awards of Excellence and GIFTTS Pineapple Awards. The awards, announced at a closing ceremony at SANA Group’s SUD Lisboa on May 9, reflect Preferred’s long-standing dedication to independent hotels and spotlight member hotels’ commitment to sustainability and philanthropy. The awards ceremony, held at SANA Group’s unique event space SUD Lisboa, was attended by more than 200 hospitality industry leaders and included guest speakers Robert B. Chavez, Chairman of the Board of Hermes America, and Shazia of SANA Hotels. Ding, Marketing & Digital Sales Director, and hundreds of independent luxury hotel hoteliers from around the world participated. CEO Lindsey Ueberroth and President Michelle Woodley opened the event, highlighting Great Initiatives for Today and Tomorrow’s Society (GIFTTS), a program launched by the Ueberroth family in 2007. The GIFTTS Pineapple Awards were held to honor the GIFTTS Pineapple Awards. The Preferred Awards of Excellence followed, along with New Hotel of the Year, I Prefer Hotel of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Shiji ReviewPro Award for Online Reputation Management.
