Tokyo Metropolitan Tama Library Tokyo Magazine Bank College Lecture The Tokyo Metropolitan Tama Library utilizes its extensive collection of magazines to carry out activities aimed at creating a base for learning and exchange called the Tokyo Magazine Bank College. Our museum has a large collection of fashion magazines. Therefore, this time we will be holding a lecture by Junko Tomikawa, a researcher of modern fashion and magazine culture and former magazine
editor-in-chief!
In addition to the title theme, “About the connection between fashion magazine planning and society,” we will also introduce the history of Japanese fashion magazines, the behind-the-scenes stories behind their editing, and how to utilize the magazine’s documentary nature. In addition, when applying for participation, we will be looking for “fashion magazines that you would like to display at the venue on the day.” From the collected magazines, we will actually display the magazines we have in our collection at the venue.
