[Marriage and Philosophy] Screenwriter Sorami Tate “Actually, I was married” talk live held! What is the reason why the master of depicting women’s hearts could not talk about his own marriage? A screenwriter and a philosopher discuss this thoroughly.
*I thought I had vowed to remain single for the rest of my life, but in reality, I had secretly gotten married. The struggle, the decision, the agony, and the conflict. What do you think? Thursday, June 13, 2024, Naked Loft
A talk live will be held at YOKOHAMA. *
June 13th 19:30~ Held at Naked Loft Yokohama (online streaming available) *Screenwriter Sorami Tate* is said to be a master at depicting women’s feelings and love stories.
His style is * “thoroughly irresponsible and ephemeral” *
He has also written a series of columns in which he picks up and interviews women on the street, and he has led an unorthodox lifestyle based on his own impulses, such as jumping into a dangerous area in Nepal alone while traveling around the world and being chased by bandits. I have continued my creative activities.
Sorami Tate vowed to remain single for the rest of her life in order to continue creating while being close to someone’s loneliness without being tied down by anything, but in reality, she quietly got married in 2021. *

It wasn’t like I really wanted to hide the fact that I was married from the beginning.
However, Sorami Tate gradually begins to hold back as the world, systems, and roles change so much between being unmarried and married…*.

Why did I feel unable to speak out about such conflicts and anguish? * Philosophers Yusuke Shimizu and Sorami Tate will thoroughly discuss this philosophically. *

* *Sorami Tate comment*
My name is Sorami Tate. I did get married. But that’s a lot less important than me writing a new drama or the fact that the book I read recently was interesting.
However, when I reported it to someone close to me, they said, “Congratulations.” All I can say is “Congratulations”. What do you mean congratulations? Why congratulations? Why does everyone say “congratulations” without any personality? And why are you all so interested in marriage! I don’t care if I’m married or not, I don’t care if you are, I want you to see me. And I want to meet you. Oh no, I can’t stop thinking about it. However, I have continued without telling anyone about these unstoppable feelings. I can’t wait to end it with “Congratulations”! ! I never want my relationship with you to slow down.
As just one person, I want to create a future where I meet you forever! ! I’m a person who can’t stay silent any longer; what I’m feeling and thinking is clearly reflected in my style, and I’m reaching the limit of being able to continue creating works in silence any longer!
I’m shouting that I’ll live strong, so please watch over me! Look at me howling, I love you from the bottom of my heart, just like my husband. Also about this world. I want to scream and sing about that and start running.
The talk live will be held in two parts at “Naked Loft YOKOHAMA”*, a descendant of “Shinjuku Loft Plus One”, a sacred place for subculture.
In the first part, Sorami Tate will unravel the resistance she had towards marriage due to her career and way of life, the anguish she was unable to express, and her real feelings, in a live format with philosopher Yusuke Shimizu. Masu.
In the second part, we plan to make a fresh start and express our determination to move forward, with audience participation. Newly written songs and special guests are also planned.

*Hirano Kaze (Naked Loft)*
“People who can write interesting stories don’t necessarily mean they’ll be interesting in talks.” I thought this while working at Talk Live House. However, Sorami tells stories that ordinary people have not experienced in an interesting and easy-to-understand way, so I wonder if this is a screenwriter whose job is to gain empathy, or maybe it’s just Sorami (lol). ) It also gives me a strange feeling. I’m looking forward to Sorami’s event, where she can listen to what others have to say, and have her own ideas and talk about them in an interesting way!

* Yusuke Shimizu (philosopher)*
I hope that together we can dig deeper into what Sorami feels and thinks about the change of marriage through dialogue. Sometimes we go beyond the individual theme of marriage, and how do we understand the fact that we change as we interact with other things? In the first place, what does it mean for oneself to change? I have a feeling this will lead to some philosophical questions.

* Mirai Yuki (Production) *
The world seen from the perspective of Sorami, who has faced many issues with marriage, is chaotic but coherent, and it is always surprising. The feeling of becoming connected to yourself through Shimizu’s philosophy is strangely interesting and comforting. I am always indebted to Sorami in my work, and I am very happy, fun, and excited to be able to work with her on this event!

* Toshiro Nagai (Sora to Rock and Roll Inc.) *
When I first heard about this project, I thought, “What kind of project is this that looks incredibly interesting?” I myself was born and raised in a rural, depopulated area and have lived with values that take marriage for granted, so I have never thought about it that deeply, so I am looking forward to hearing what kind of stories I will hear. Please feel free to have fun and have fun while enjoying delicious drinks and food!
