On May 14, the New Economy Federation (located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Hiroshi Mikitani) released the “Urgent Proposals for Creating Regional Vitality and Strengthening
Resilience.”
[Summary of the proposal]
In order to achieve the major goal of building a sustainable local community, we will make urgent recommendations focused on the following two points.
Recommendation 1: Policy package for measures related to promotion of workation, bi-regional residence, etc.

▸Enhancing and strengthening education, medical care, and
transportation infrastructure
– Expansion of dual schools, regulatory reform of online education – Promotion of online medical care
– Japanese version of ride sharing and new ride sharing laws ▸Taxation requests to promote the introduction of movable containers, etc. ▸Reduction of transportation costs to promote living in two locations, etc. Recommendation 2: Policy package for effective utilization of vacant houses in order to convert vacant houses, which are “negative personal assets”, into “wealth personal assets”
