ABB today announced the 2024 Robotics AI Startup Challenge, a global competition aimed at accelerating the development of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in the field of robotics. This challenge is part of ABB’s ecosystem for innovation, and in previous challenges, the Swiss-based startup and leading provider of AI-enabled 3D vision navigation technology for autonomous mobile robots (AMR) We acquired Sevensens in January 2024. ABB Robotics’ latest challenge fosters innovation and collaboration between ABB and pioneering start-ups and scale-ups around the world.

The ABB Robotics AI Startup Challenge challenges participants to submit breakthrough ideas and solutions in three key areas: natural language programming, skill learning, and autonomous decision-making. ABB harnesses the power of AI to develop next-generation robots that are more intuitive, adaptable, easy to use and efficient, making businesses stronger and employees more engaged. In order to achieve this goal, we will transform the industry.
Participants in this challenge will have the opportunity to work closely with ABB’s world-class engineers, access cutting-edge robotics technology and leverage ABB’s global network of customers and partners. The winning team will receive a cash prize of $30,000 and the opportunity to forge a long-term partnership with ABB to explore joint go-to-market strategies and investment opportunities.
