Mr. Gump Suzuki is taking on the challenge of traveling around the world in the world’s first rickshaw with the aim of connecting people all over the world with the rickshaw, a part of Japanese culture. Last year, he completed a 5,100km journey across the United States from New York to Los Angeles over a period of five months. Since then, he has continued to train every day with the aim of not only visiting the United States, but also traveling across Africa and around the world in a rickshaw.
Last year, we held a “Talk Event about the World as Seen as We Traveled Across America in a Rickshaw,” which was very popular and gave many listeners laughter and courage. In this talk event, we will listen to Mr. Gump Suzuki talk about his preparations for crossing Africa, while delving deeper into his own life.
Why does Gump Suzuki continue to travel by rickshaw? What is the current state of society and the message you want to convey while traveling around the world in a rickshaw? We will get closer to this event. The interviewer will be Daisuke Yamazaki, the representative director and vice president of Mother House Co., Ltd., a fashion brand that travels around the world and whose philosophy is to “create a world-class brand from a developing country.” A talk event filled with stories that will give many people courage for tomorrow. A rickshaw traveler traveling around the world

He discovered rickshaws at the age of 23. While working as a rickshaw operator in Asakusa, in 2016 he has been taking on the world’s first rickshaw ride across five continents while posting videos on SNS, with the aim of interacting with people around the world using rickshaws, a part of Japanese culture. . He traveled to Asia, Europe, and Australia, but his trip across the United States was suspended due to the coronavirus. He returned to Japan temporarily and traveled 3,000km from Hokkaido to Okinawa while working on regional revitalization in each city, town, and village. After that, I started my journey across the United States from scratch and achieved my revenge by crossing 5,100km. He completed the Shikoku Pilgrimage in 2023, visiting 11 countries and regions so far, and has traveled over 20,000 km.

Together with Eriko , a junior at university, he founded Mother House Co., Ltd., which delivers the potential of developing countries through manufacturing, and became vice president.
Representative director since March 2019. For half of the year, he was in charge of marketing and production management for the company, which now employs approximately 800 people, while traveling overseas, focusing on six production countries and three sales countries. Others: Outside director of Que Co., Ltd., outside director of Japan Blind Soccer Association, etc.
