About TENNOZ ART WEEK 2024
This is an art event that aims to connect the Japanese and overseas art scenes and promote international cultural tourism by attracting world-class art content to Tennoz and creating a place for art-related people from Japan and abroad to visit. Last year, we held a new installation performance by Tomoko Mukaiyama and a gallery night at TERRADA ART COMPLEX, which attracted approximately 14,000 visitors, mainly art collectors from Japan and overseas, and helped Tennozu become an international art city. It was lively.
[Image 2: https://prtimes.jp/i/14158/380/resize/d14158-380-652f154cb2e556c822bb-1.jpg&s3=14158-380-fe4ef0c1505f845bf02bd07c19cbafe6-1050×489.jpg] This is the second time, and this time, we will be presenting an exhibition by Mr. Tabaimo, a contemporary artist who is active both domestically and internationally, and three independent animation artists, who exhibited a large-scale installation at the Japan Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2011. A new video installation will be exhibited at Warehouse Terada G3-6F. In addition, TERRADA ART COMPLEX, home to Japan’s leading art galleries, will hold special nighttime operations. We will welcome domestic and international art collectors at a cocktail party featuring Japanese alcoholic drinks such as sake and craft gin.
WHAT MUSEUM offers a special guided tour of an exhibition that focuses on the “structural design” that has created the framework of architecture, from the wooden structures of traditional Japanese buildings to modern wooden buildings and even space structures. At PIGMENT TOKYO, we are planning a workshop on creating Japanese paintings using gold paint, a traditional painting material. WHAT CAFE will be collaborating with B-OWND to hold an exhibition promoting Japanese contemporary crafts.
By introducing not only contemporary art but also the cultural diversity of Japan, including crafts, animation, architecture, and food, as well as the charm of the regions where each culture is rooted, we aim to appeal to art collectors and tourists visiting Japan who are highly interested in art and culture. We will also communicate the charm of Art City Tennozu.
-On the weekends, there is also content to experience the charm of the city of Tennozu-
On the weekends during the exhibition period, a street market will be held on the boardwalk along the Tennozu Canal, with about 20 shops selling food and specialties from all over Japan. We will also provide content that allows you to experience the charm of the city, such as Tennoz’s waterside scenery, murals, and three-dimensional public art.

Through animation, entities such as water and living things that are prohibited to be brought into the warehouse space are brought into the warehouse. By connecting it with the context of art, we create experiential installations in which the multilayered relationship between animation and the viewer becomes a work of art.
