[Summary] Starting from the restoration of forestry, Ueno Village is developing a system for local energy production and economic circulation within the village using woody biomass that is
commensurate with the village’s material supply capacity. In conjunction with the promotion of decarbonization, we will double or triple the scale of this local production and local revitalization initiative to expand its ripple effects. We believe that if
communities in hilly and mountainous areas that have forest resources can establish an independent use of energy that coexists with the local community and expand it horizontally across the country, it will lead to domestic production and domestic use of energy. The village has also been selected by the government as a leading decarbonization area, and efforts are being accelerated. We aim to improve the village as a village rooted in decarbonization, foster civic brides, and build a sustainable local community.
