In addition, Kozue Ogino of Gurunavi Co., Ltd., who is seconded to Shikabe Town as a regional revitalization entrepreneur, was involved in store development, including marketing and PR, using case studies from other areas and various knowledge.
In order to make the most of local ingredients, we have repeatedly made various prototypes, and even the producers who provide the scallops and octopus have come up with a product that is recognized as “delicious!”

In front of Shikabeyaki is Shikabe Intermittent Spring, a Hokkaido heritage site that celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The theme is “The blessings of the sea, known as Shikabe-yaki, and the blessings of the hot springs, known as Shikabe Intermittent Spring.We want you to enjoy the two blessings of Shikabe.” You might think it’s a mural of Mt. Fuji, which is common in public baths, but it turns out to be Mt. Komagatake, Shikabe’s proudest peak…There are many features throughout the store that give you the feel of a nostalgic hot spring town.
Shikabe-yaki is also available for take-out, so you can enjoy the blessings of Shikabe from both inside and outside of your body while soaking in a real hot spring footbath!

A roadside station in Shikabe Town, southern Hokkaido.
As the name suggests, the symbol is the Shikabe Intermittent Spring, which has been designated as a Hokkaido Heritage Site, and is worth a visit for the power of the 100°C hot springs that erupt to a height of 15 meters every 10 minutes. It is attracting attention as an experience-based roadside station that is more than just a rest spot, with features such as a footbath and the “Onsen Mushigama” where you can steam and eat local ingredients using hot spring steam.
Hama Kaasan Shokudo offers food that makes use of regional
characteristics, such as the “Premium Tarako Gozen”, which has a whole cod roe on a bowl, and the “Sukeso Burger,” a parent-child burger that combines fried pollack with mentaiko sauce. is also very popular.
