Hikaru Hoshino has developed the manufacturing technology for film coating and adhesive processing that we have cultivated over the years since our founding, and we have developed a seal-like auxiliary material that we have established in-house for the purpose of reducing processing loss under the product name “Splice Assist Seal (TM).” )” and will be released from mid-May. Splice Assist Seal (TM) is a Roll to
This is a seal that prevents the unwinding of the original fabric in a two-axis turret type splicing device of roll processing equipment. By applying it to the starting edge of the web, it prevents unwinding and ensures reliable splicing.

■Product details
What is a two-axis turret type splicing device?
This is an unwinding device that automatically switches the raw material in Roll processing equipment. This is an indispensable device for recent converting technology that can continuously feed raw materials such as film and paper without stopping processing equipment.

In this device, when there is only a small amount of material left in use, the material prepared on the other shaft is pre-rotated (idling) in preparation for splicing. At that time, the starting end of the web unwinds due to gravity and wind pressure, so a method is required to prevent this. On the other hand, during splicing, the starting end of the new web needs to open and be rolled out smoothly. A product that combines these two functions is Splice Assist Seal (TM).

In a survey conducted by our company on biaxial turret type splicing equipment for converters, we found that many companies were using their own methods to prevent the roll from unwinding, using
commercially available adhesive tapes, etc. Many potential challenges were identified, including preparation time, splice success rate, and contamination.

This is an innovative product that can prevent unwinding during splicing and achieve smooth, high-speed, and reliable splicing by simply applying it to the starting edge of the raw fabric.
Additionally, the high success rate of automatic splicing contributes to reduced downtime and processing loss.

■Product features
* – Reduces loss through reliable splicing *
* ・Product design prevents contamination as foreign matter*
* – Reduces preparation time and standardizes work *

■How to use
1. Chuck the raw fabric onto the unwinding shaft and apply
commercially available double-sided tape for splicing to the starting edge of the raw fabric. At this time, align the starting edge of the raw fabric with the edge of the double-sided tape as much as possible. 2. Next, peel off the Splice Assist Seal (TM) from the release film and attach it to the starting edge of the original fabric.
3. Paste at equal intervals of about 300mm between both ends of the original fabric. The preparation for splicing is now complete.
