Points to note when using “Nikko FX”
・About “Nikko FX” risks, etc.
“Nikko FX” is a foreign exchange margin trading service provided by SMBC Nikko Securities Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”). Foreign exchange margin transactions may incur losses due to price fluctuations in the transaction currency (in the case of non-yen currency transactions, this includes price fluctuations of the base currency of the currency pair against the yen). Swap points change daily depending on the interest rate situation of the currency pair being traded, so there is a risk that the amount received or paid may fluctuate, or the swap points may change from being received to being paid. With foreign exchange margin trading, you can trade with a small amount of margin and the amount exceeds the deposited margin, so there is a risk of large losses exceeding the amount of margin. If the margin maintenance rate falls below the level determined by our company, all unsettled positions will be forcibly settled regardless of the customer’s intention (loss-cut rule). The loss cut rule does not limit the customer’s losses to a certain range, and there is a risk of losses exceeding the deposited margin due to sudden market fluctuations, etc.
The provisions of Article 37-6 of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (provisions regarding cooling-off) do not apply to foreign exchange margin transactions.
・About “Nikko FX” fees etc.
Nikko FX does not charge transaction fees. However, there is a difference (spread) between the buy and sell price of the currency that we present. Additionally, in non-yen currency transactions, there is a spread associated with conversion to yen. Spreads change depending on market conditions and are not always constant. The actual spread based on the customer’s trade results may not match the spread advertised by our company. The spreads we display in advertisements do not guarantee the spreads you will receive when trading.
・About the margin of “Nikko FX”
“Nikko FX” requires you to deposit the required margin determined by our company in advance in cash in Japanese yen (we do not accept substitute securities or foreign currencies). The margin must be at least the amount calculated by multiplying the transaction amount by the margin rate (minimum 4%) set for each currency pair. The margin rate may be changed at our discretion depending on changes in the trading environment such as market conditions. The ratio of trading amount to margin amount (leverage) is up to 25 times. When conducting actual transactions, please carefully read the “Foreign Exchange Margin Transaction Manual (document issued before contract
conclusion)” etc., fully understand the contents, and make your own decisions.
Points to note regarding Article 37 of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (Regulations on Advertising, etc.)
■Regarding fees, etc. When investing in products, etc. that we provide information about, you may be required to pay certain fees, etc. for each product. In the case of investment trusts, various fees are set for each issue (direct costs include application fees of up to 3.30%, conversion fees of up to 4.50% or trust asset retention amount, and indirect costs of up to 3.64% annual trust fees). You will be required to pay fees (or operational management fees, other expenses, etc.). When purchasing bonds, stocks, etc. through an offering, secondary offering, or negotiable transaction, you will only be required to pay the purchase price (in the case of bonds, you may be required to pay accrued interest separately in addition to the purchase price). In addition, in the case of products denominated in foreign currencies, when exchanging yen for foreign currency or between different foreign currencies, the exchange rate determined by the Company according to foreign exchange market trends will be used. Among the above fees, etc., for those subject to consumption tax, the rate or amount including the consumption tax is stated.
■About risks etc.
For each product, etc., external evaluations include fluctuations in prices such as stock prices, interest rate levels, exchange rates, real estate prices, and commodity prices, as well as deterioration in the credit status (including financial and management status) of issuers of securities, etc. There is a risk of incurring a loss as a direct result of changes in the amount (principal loss risk) or a loss exceeding the principal (principal loss risk). In addition, when conducting margin transactions or derivative transactions, etc. (hereinafter referred to as “derivative transactions, etc.”), the amount of the derivative transactions, etc. will be the amount of the security deposit or margin deposited by the customer for the derivative transactions, etc. (hereinafter referred to as “derivative transactions, etc.”). In addition, due to fluctuations in the price or index of the underlying securities, there is a risk that the amount of loss may exceed the amount of the security deposit (principal) posted by the customer.
