Mascot character “Tawawa-chan”, Daimaru Kyoto store “Detchy-kun” This flyer for the “Kyoto Certification Junior and Senior High School Students Challenge Project” was created for the first time in a movement led by our project team and with the cooperation of companies connected to the Kyoto Certification to materialize the efforts of the “Kyoto Certification 20th Anniversary.” Thing.
Background of flyer creation
Regarding the “Kyoto Proficiency Test Level 3 Challenge Project for Junior High and High School Students,” Yaei Motors has been donating 1,000 reference books for the Kyoto Proficiency Test every year since 2015 in order to support junior high and high school students learning about Kyoto. doing.

This flyer was created to mark the 20th anniversary of the Kyoto Certification Certification in 2023.* “Is it possible for companies related to the Kyoto Certification to cooperate and do something new and interesting?”*
It originates from this idea. We hope to create an opportunity for a wider range of junior high and high school students to become interested in the Kyoto Certification Test from a new perspective. I consulted with “Detchy-kun” (Daimaru Kyoto store), who was with me at the G-1 Grand Prix award ceremony, and came up with a plan for a flyer featuring popular characters representing Kyoto.
Similarly, “Kyoto Proficiency Test”
I would like to say a word to “Okurin” (Kansai Electric Power Transmission and Distribution), who was with me at the award ceremony of “G-1 Grand Prix”, and “Tawawa-chan” (Keihan Hotels & Resorts), who also appeared on the Kyoto Test. , with their cooperation, we materialized the planning concept. This co-starring project was made possible by having each character appear, and by adding the Yasaka sightseeing bus guide, who will also be with us at the “Kyoto Certification G-1 Grand Prix” award ceremony.
Photo shoot on the day
The shooting took place at the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry conference room in the Kyoto Economic Center, which is the actual venue for the July exam (as of 2024, the Kyoto Proficiency Test is held twice in July and December). In order to take pictures of characters related to the Kyoto Test taking the exam, we received full cooperation from the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry Membership Department Testing Business Division (Kyoto Testing Office), including the entrance ticket, test question booklet, and bulletin board at the test venue. The exam was realistically recreated and filmed. It can’t be helped that all of them are regular test takers, but they all forgot that they were filming and started solving the test questions seriously, which was tough, but I think I was able to convey the atmosphere of the test venue. Is it not?

About the relationships between the characters of each company that appear and their movements so far
At the time of this poster shooting, Yaei Motors’ project team proposed a specific plan for operating a “Kyoto Certification 20th Anniversary Special Edition Vehicle” whose body would be wrapped with characters related to the Kyoto Certification Certification, and discussions were held regarding vehicle design, etc. I did. The Kyoto National Museum was originally a “dream concept” of the participating members.
The addition of “Torarin” to the ranks of the official character and PR ambassador was made possible thanks to the enthusiasm and efforts of everyone involved. On October 26, 2023, a departure ceremony was held at Heian Shrine for the “Kyoto Certification 20th Anniversary Special Edition Vehicle”, which began operation.
On March 17, 2024, the “Kyoto Certification 20th Anniversary Special Edition Vehicle” and “Torarin”, “Tawawa-chan”, and “Detchy-kun” will meet together for the first time at the Kyoto National Museum, with Yasaka Sightseeing Bus Guide acting as host.
