The Kamino Educational Foundation (Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, Chairman: Goro Kamino), a public interest incorporated foundation (Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, Chairman: Goro Kamino), has started accepting applications for two types of educational and cultural activity grants (one without a specified theme and one with a specified theme) as a grant project for 2024.

Educational/Cultural Activities Grant (No theme specified) This year marks the 21st time to provide funding for activities to individuals or groups that are conducting school educational activities, social education activities, or cultural activities based in the Higashi Mikawa area of Aichi Prefecture. A portion of this will be subsidized in advance. The award will be given to outstanding school education activities, social education activities, or cultural activities based in the Higashi Mikawa area of Aichi Prefecture that will be held within the fiscal year 2024 (until the end of March 2025). As a general rule, the amount of the grant will be up to 300,000 yen per project regardless of whether it is an individual or a group, and the selection committee will decide on the recipient and the amount of the grant. Educational/Cultural Activities Grant (with specified theme) This project started in 2021 to explore the history and culture of the area around Mikawa Port, centered on Kamino Shinden, which has played an important role in the development of the Higashi Mikawa region of Aichi Prefecture. This program subsidizes a portion of the cost of activities in advance to individuals or organizations that carry out activities in Japan to pass on and utilize the local area as a valuable asset to future generations. This covers activities related to the area, such as surveys and research and next-generation education, and also covers activities that span multiple years. The selection committee will decide on the grant recipients and the grant amount. This project is funded by the “Nobuo Kamino Fund,” which was established as a bequest from the late Nobuo Kamino, the former chairman of this foundation. [Reference] Foundation website

For each grant, the Foundation’s selection committee will make a selection based on the submitted application documents (which can be downloaded from the website), and will decide whether to grant the grant or not and the amount of the grant. Applicants will be notified of the results within one month after the deadline, and a decision notification ceremony will be held in early August 2024.
