Utilizing data and AI to realize resilient supply chain management for Panasonic EW
……
In order to realize resilient supply chain management for Panasonic Corporation Electric Works (Note 1) (hereinafter referred to as Panasonic EW), we have developed Fujitsu Data Intelligence PaaS, an operation platform for Fujitsu Uvance that utilizes data and AI. ” (Note 2) and began full-scale operation at Panasonic EW in April 2024. This system supports decision-making for business continuity by integrating vast amounts of data scattered across the company across more than 3,000 companies, including domestic and overseas suppliers and factories. Panasonic EW, which handles electrical equipment products, had been managing information on tens of thousands of products, parts, and other items individually in different formats for each division, division, and base. We will integrate data from 20 current systems such as inventory, parts procurement, etc., link and visualize over 200,000 parts in stock, and aim to optimize PSI plans (Note 3) and parts procurement plans at a company-wide level. It has come true. In addition, we will utilize AI to implement highly accurate demand forecasting models based on data.
Panasonic EW uses data to quickly grasp the situation in the event of a disaster or changes in the business environment, and uses AI to predict the uncertain future and make decisions to create a dynamic and resilient company. Achieve effective supply chain management. [Features of the system built using Fujitsu Data Intelligence PaaS] All-in-one construction from data integration to business systems Panasonic EW uses Fujitsu Data Intelligence PaaS to build an all-in-one system that integrates, stores, and visualizes data, as well as business systems. This makes it possible to control PSI information, parts procurement plans, and inventory status for each location at a company-wide level, allowing each department to promote work cross-sectionally to improve efficiency, as well as inventory adjustment and ordering between locations. It has become possible to level out inventories through measures such as restraint. In addition, it will help you quickly understand the impact of each order received and the profit and loss impact on the entire business in the event of a disaster, supporting decision-making to maintain production and supply systems.
In addition, “Fujitsu Data Intelligence PaaS” can integrate data without modifying existing systems, and can link and visualize Panasonic EW’s over 200,000 inventory parts in a short period of two weeks. It was realized.

Planning highly accurate demand forecasting using AI
Panasonic EW uses Fujitsu Kozuchi AutoML, our AI service that can generate high-precision machine learning models in a short time, to sell major parts from the past five years based on information integrated into the data platform. We have generated 300 types of predictive models based on actual results. This makes it possible to create highly accurate PSI plans for each component category.

【About the future】
In preparation for 2030, when labor shortages are expected to become evident due to a rapid decline in the working-age population, we will support Panasonic EW in building a sustainable and resilient supply chain structure and promote operational reforms. By doing so, we will contribute to the realization of productivity that allows similar tasks to be performed with 50% of the current man-hours.
Under “Fujitsu Uvance” (https://activate.fujitsu/ja/uvance), we will take a bird’s-eye view of the entire supply chain and strengthen corporate resilience through “Digital Shifts” initiatives that utilize data and technology. We support responses to environmental and social issues. Through this, we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable world.
