In order to realize the common philosophy of both brands, “Creation of New Value,” “CAFE & BAR B” proposes a new style of cuisine that fuses German tradition and Japanese ingredients. On the same day, “Cafe & Barbie” will open on the 1st floor of the BMW brand store “FREUDE by BMW” in Azabudai Hills.
By combining Eat Creator Co., Ltd.’s food culture creation know-how with the sophisticated brand experience of FREUDE by BMW, we will create new lifestyle proposals and food culture experiences through the synergy of mutual values.
In a plaza-like space that creates a social space and community for sophisticated adults, the German philosophy of valuing time-honoured traditions such as world-class industry, culture and art will be rebuilt with craftsmanship and quality unique to Japan. We offer a menu of food and drinks.
This is a cafe and bar that can be used for a wide range of occasions, such as lunch and cafe, as well as dinner and bar.
lunch time
Inspired by traditional German menus, we offer lunch menus that bring out the flavors of ingredients sourced from Japan’s regions and producers to energize you for the day.
We offer a wide variety of dishes, including hearty foods made with Toyonishi beef, Daisen chicken, Kyoto Kujo green onions, and Awajishima pasta selected by the chef himself, as well as fruit juices made with fresh fruits.
[Image 2:×1333.jpg] German-style original Reuben sandwich
The classic “Reuben Sandwich” often found in German delis has a perfect combination of slowly stewed pastrami beef, sour sauerkraut, and cheddar cheese. What’s more, the rich flavor of the special Reuben sauce goes perfectly with all the ingredients, making it so delicious that you’ll want to eat it again and again.
[Image 3:×1333.jpg] Spätzle Japanese Black Beef Ragout Cream Sauce
“Spätzle” is a new type of fresh pasta originating from Germany. Paired with a luxurious ragu sauce made from Japanese black beef. This is a dish where you can enjoy the rich, fragrant sauce that goes well with homemade pasta and high-quality Japanese beef.
cafe time
[Image 4:×1333.jpg] Foret Noir -Chocolate/Cherry-
Not only for those who live nearby, but also for those who use it during afternoon tea time or taking a break between work.
At cafe time, where you can enjoy a high-quality moment, we offer dishes such as “Foret Noir”, a sweet that originated in Germany, made into a roll cake that is popular in Japan, and a fragrant dish made with roasted apples, which are often used in traditional German desserts. Dessert crepes with caramel butter are available.
[Image 5:×1333.jpg] Specialty coffee supervised by “Ogawa Coffee”
Also selected was Hisako Yoshikawa, chief barista at Ogawa Coffee in Kyoto, who won the JLAC (Japan Latte Art Championship) in 2013 and won the world championship at the WLAC (World Latte Art Championship), where she participated as a representative from Japan. Together with our specialty coffee, we will create the best moment for you. Bar dinner time
[Image 6:×1080.jpg] Bar time drinks are supervised by Sorato Nomura
Bar time drinks are supervised by Soto Nomura, owner and top bartender of the standing liquor shop “NOMURA SHOTEN” in Kuramae and the cocktail bar and studio “Quarter Room” in Setagaya Daita.
The standard cocktail menu combines fruit brandy, which has been popular in Germany for a long time, with Japanese liqueur to make the classic style taste even more complex. By combining flavors with a new approach, you can enjoy a cocktail that has been sublimated into an unprecedented cocktail.
Mocktails made with carefully selected coffee beans, supervised by barista Yoshikawa of Ogawa Coffee, are also on the menu.
[Image 7:×1333.jpg] Domestic beef heart and mountain wasabi carpaccio
Recommended on the dinner menu is the “Domestic Beef Heart and Mountain Wasabi Carpaccio”, which is made by thinly slicing fresh domestic beef heart that has been carefully prepared, garnished with mountain wasabi and lemon, and has a faint scent of sesame oil. This dish is inspired by Germany, the birthplace of steak tartare, while incorporating the essence of Japan. In addition, you can choose from meat or fish for your main dish, such as “Rare Yellowtail Steak with Lemon Sauce”.
We also offer an original food menu that combines Japanese food culture, including sausages and German ham that go well with German-style beer.
